The columns and archways of Lovett and Sewall Hall are considered some of the best backdrops for portrait photography in Houston. Because Rice University is such a popular photography location, the university requires photographers who wish to conduct photography sessions on campus to first register with the university. Only registered photographers and photo studios with confirmed scheduled appointments may photograph clients at Rice University.

How to Register

To register, photographers must complete the on-line registration form on this website and pay a $50 annual registration fee via credit card or electronic check.

This annual registration fee allows photographers and photo studios to photograph clients on campus for one calendar year.

Once their registration fee has been received, photographers will receive an email notice stating that their photography account has been approved. They can then login to their on-line photography account and search for available reservation times, set up appointments for clients, and cancel appointments if necessary. There is an additional $50 reservation fee required for each confirmed photo shoot appointment.

As a part of the registration process, all photographers must agree to abide by the Bridal and Portrait Photography Guidelines set forth by Rice University.
